your messages? I am in a new city and I don't do the clubs scene. I rarely go out, but when i do, it's usually to the grocery store, to run errands, or maybe a bar and grill. Im not a fan of social sites, but I thought i would give it a try. Im just not willing to pay.
 
OKcupid and Craigs List both worked for me. The compatibility testing of OKCupid works great.
 
Yahoo has a dating site. There's also Plenty of Fish. Neither of these ever worked well for me, but I didn't have time or interest in pursuing them much, which may have had something to do with it!

Honestly, if you seeking to meet new people - your best bet would be facebook or even myspace.
 
EVERY dating site I have come across charges for you to send messages.

Zoosk, Plenty Of Fish, etc...

The only exception is Craigslist.org.

Any site that does not allow you to give someone your e-mail for your "safety" is a SCAM.
