What are some good topics to rant about for an English speech?

I have to write a speech ranting about something - preferably something slightly humerous - using a range of techniques. The rants need to be similar to those written by Jeremy Clarkson if you've ever read them - or something along those lines.

I don't want to do the usual cliche eating disorders, homework, canteen food and exams. I want something more interesting...for example the over-hype of Christmas, or the way every time you buy a new phone, a newer one comes out almost immidiately after.

Any ideas appreciated.
 
Yeah I like the last one out put out there , you could also do some thing about how when you get something on Christmas and its exactly what you wanted but then the newer version comes out a week later, then you don"t want your old one any more. You could definitively do that. So get working!
