What are some interesting topics that DON'T involve politics,debates, etc. ?

I really don't like learning about debates like on the news, politics stuff, nothing like that. I want something thats not so original. I like to learn about science, some history like the stonehenge (stuff like that) Can you help me with a good topic that doesnt involve the things I have listed. thanks :)
 
you can always learn about the history of architecture. which includes stone hinge. and the easter island statues.
 
Well - if you want to read one of the best books I've ever seen about science and history - read "Guns, Germs and Steel" - maybe you already read it. If not, you can get it USED off of Amazon for probably pretty cheap.

So... how did this modern world happen like it has? That's what Mr. Diamond takes on in this book. Who gave us all the plants we use for food? Who domesticated all the animals we use for food? Who kicked the whole history thing off?

Anyway - it's just a fantastic book - very little political stuff - but you learn a LOT about the very most important stuff.
