what are the pros and cons of cranking up the tortion bars on my 98 gmc...

pros: it will sit a bit higher.

cons: wear out front tires.
put strain on torsion bars
could brake torsion bars
wear out front end components.
need a special tool to adjust torsion bars.
tool is expensive

purchase a 3 inch lift kit from sky jacker. its the best option

cranking the torsion bar will only give you about 1 to 2 inches more height so its not really worth it.
