What are the USB ports on my PS2 for?

I just noticed that my PS2 has two USB ports, does anyone know what they are for?

yeah, eye toy, singstar microphones, stuff like that and im pretty sure you might be able to connect a key board into it

you can connect all the things previously stated and you can also connect an ipod

accessories. i know on GT4 you can save screen shots to a USB also
