i just weighed both bikes ( just by lifting ) and the mongoose is MUCH lighter of course the rear wheel is off but its a good 10-20 lbs ( Not good at estimating)
hi well i need to take back my P.O.S. tony hawk bike i got and i'll be getting 130 bucks back ( i dont wanna spend all of the money ) and i decided to fix up 1 of the 2 old bikes sitting out side
1 is a mongoose crush al (aluminum ) bmx/freestyle bike and its not in to bad of shape but the chain would always slip off this thing and i defintly need new brakes and i bought this 1 new for around 150ish bucks at target few years back and it doesnt have to much rust and is really light weight,
and my second choice is a older schwinn supermatic bike that is chrome and red as it has been siting for a few years and is rusted a bit and i need defintly new brakes, new rear tube, and like the other bike the chain also slips, and maybe some other small work. originaly i think the bike is worth 300 and thats back in the late 90's. its slightly heavier not by much though any things i can do to lower weight for cheap?
the 1 i pick would be done at a trusted bike shop. so whats the best route to go the mongoose or schwinn? so what should i do i cant decide? thanks.
