i plan on buying some expensive kit and doing some travel around south east asia for 1 year and would like to know of a really good insurance policy that will give full cover for accidental damage and theft.

a rough estimate of what it would cost would also be helpful thanks
when you say agent. i'm confused. i'm not employed. but do it for fun.
i dont have any equipment. hence why it's gonna be expensive to buy from scatch.
oh yeah. thanks for your info.

Talk to your agent. There are many excellent companies that can provide that coverage and your personal agent will be not only able to find them for you, but get you the best price after using all the discounts you may qualify for.

When I travel, I take my oldest DSLR and lenses that I would not mind losing to damage, theft or misadventure. My oldest camera right now is a D200, so I can shoot both RAW and JPEG and save them to my notebook ... I carry a 1 TB external drive with me at all times as well as DVD's to burn backups which I mail home from time to time.

Good luck on your adventure.
