What computer for graduation present?

your ignorant. alienware has a corner on custom built PC's. They have been around since the start and they comps are rock solid. NO where can you you get the quality and customer service as well as warranties of alienware. Although i would never purchase one of there because if you look over it all, what you pay for is warranty and liquid cooling, other wise the only part on them that is performance to the max is the standard quad core intel and standard SLI video cards. other wise very very nice PC's but not worth the overall money IF IF! you dont mind having no warranty.

This whole thread is full of lulz except for Fluffy's comments. I would build a nice desktop, get an Asus Eee PC for portability, and still spend way less money.

And this guy saying alienware is good has no idea what the fuck he is talking about.

What the fuck? You are, without a shadow of a doubt, not doing anything advanced. :crash: :crash: I can call you a douche bag all I want now. Good luck running Avid, or most other professional video software on a mac.

The reason people use Mac over PC for video manipulation is because they are either trendy or on a budget. Macs are infinitely cheaper than PCs for anything above home movies, but you clearly don't know that.

Would you not agree photoshop on a pc has the same functionality of one on a mac? I think that applies to almost if not all software that is compatible with both windows and os x. Also, I could give two shits about trends and as for doing current advance projects, your right, im not. But that does not mean I havent used advanced software before such as Final Cut, Avid, Vegas, and Premiere Pro. Ive settled on a major and thats where college comes in.

They operate an OS that has less patches and makes more sense, while also operating the preferred OS. It's understandable to have use for two operating systems on one machine.
