AREA FOR CABLE INTERNET.? Ok, CAN ANYONE TELL ME WHAT THE HECK A CABLE INTERNET BOOSTER LOOKS LIKE? Because Telus is setting up one soon around my area. Also what are the rectangular things on the powerlines? Their black colours. Also sometimes i see these gray boxes on powerline poles with black cables going into them, what are they? PLEASE HELP ME BECAUSE IVE BEEN WONDERING FOR LIKE 1 MONTH.

the internet boosters ar more than likely a repeater, re-generator or amplifiers, when you get to far away from telephone exchange your voltage drops. In Aus exchange telephone line is 50 volts DC, simple ohms laws. ADSL only works in a 7km radius of exchange, so what they do is put re-generators in to boost the signal strength the black boxes could be joints in cable where the grey are the repeaters or re-generators, obviously you have aerial cabling, a cheap way to do it, In Aus the use fibre optics in ground and put a RIM ( remote Integrated multiplexer or pair gain system) Fibre optic has no or less resistance than copper so fewer re-generators, and it is faster?
