What do I need to re-do my car's audio system?

I am going to outfit my '91 blazer with an aftermarket sound system, but I have absolutely no idea where to start. All of the speakers and the cd receiver are stock.

Where should I start? What should I get to replace all of the speakers? Should I use professional installation?

If it helps I listen to metal music so I would like the new system to be able to go very loud with out sounding bad. Also alot of bass to the sound would be nice too.

personally i would start with buying an alpine head unit, then some goood speakers and then the sub and amp and stuff, but i didnt know what your speaker sizes are so i just gave the think for goood speakers
