I have a 2 1/2 year old daughter. Her father and I are in the middle of a divorce. He was a stay at home father for the first 18 months of her life so they should have a special bond. He split 7 months ago and has only seen her once since. He recently moved out of state and hasn't seen her since December. It's been about a month since he called her and at that time, he promised to call her "next week". How do I respond when she starts saying daddy, daddy? Sometimes she wakes up in the night calling for him. I don't know if I should try to change the subject and talk about her grandpa (who is very active in her life) or tell her that her daddy loves her. Advice?
