What about you? I am 15 years old, I am a Christian heterosexual who believes the teachings of Jesus Christ have been twisted. He teaches LOVE ACCEPTANCE AND TOLERANCE. NOT HATE. Which is what, unfortunatley, people of the same faith as I show to gays. LIFE, LIBERTY, PURSUIT OF HAPPINESS. Everyone has that right. What have political figures argued about what is wrong with gay marriage? And whats your view? Thanks

The biggest argument at this point is that they think that it's going to "ruin the sanctity of marriage". Frankly, it's total BS. Political figures base their campaigns on what they think the population wants to hear. Sometimes it's not even what they believe, but they do it anyways in an effort to get the votes. I'm a gay man in my mid 20's and grew up in a heavy christian family. Both my parents were/are pastors so i had the whole thing shoved down my thought since i was able to speak. I know the arguments and i believe that the word of God has been totally twisted around. it's become very hypocritical and Christians tend to pick and choose the things that they want to go with rather than do everything that the Bible says. your very right, God speaks of Love, acceptance and tolerance. I won't let anyone tell me that my love for another man is any less valid that the love a man and a women share. You have to learn to view things on your own level and not get sucked into what everyone else may want you to believe. Make your own choices. And know that just because you support the GLBT community does not mean you aren't a Christian. You seem very level headed for your age and we need more youth like you out in this world. We are the next generation and there's a title wave of change coming. The older generations are going to like it, but at some point they will have to accept it as the inevitability that it is. GO TEAM YOU!!!!

Political figures tend to side with the prejudicial, hateful and fanatical religious people because unfortunately they make up the majority of the worlds population. So it's all boils down to winning the favour of the majority to insure they remain in office.

"The Bible is all about love", yet most must have skipped everything about genocides, killing, murder, rape, selling thy daughter to a group of drunk guys to save the crops, Slavery is ok as well as several others.

The Bible has been Written and Re-Written and Translated and Re-Translated by many ignorant Men, Why people even bother believing in it also puzzles me. It's like false hope...

I think its about time we get rid of the entire religion all together, Before anyone says "Then the Muslims will take over!?!" This is America, just because one religion goes. Doesn't mean one is going to replace it, stop it with the redneck thinking of "If we don't have it, They do" Who in the blue hell is THEY!

Noted: "it violates the sanctity of marriage." Yet the 70% divorce rate doesn't evidently...
