what do you do to people that spread rumors that are not true.?

i came from a prominent family and went to a boarding school my senior year. the whole town thought i was pregnant. I have always ignored it. really never felt it was any ones business. this was in 1963. things we much different then. but it hurts.

1963?! Do they still think that you are pregnant?
There are so many things wrong with this.
First of all, they should have figured that you were not pregnant nine months later when you didn't go into labor and give birth to a human being.
Secondly, you are probably too old to get pregnant now, so it would be obvious that aren't pregnant currently.
Why would you be stuck on something that happened half a century ago? Obviously if you didn't have a child after that then the rumor dispelled itself.

jealousy. you probably had something they didnt so they were jealous...therefore they decided to put u down for it to make them feel better. its the human way i suppose. i guess we all do it in our own way..whether it be out in the open or in a corner chuckling. it is cruel and it does hurt..but what hurts us makes us stronger.

People that are not directly involved in your life are of no consequence therefore you should just ignore them and let them keep acting like a bunch of stupid fools.
