What do you pack on a 3 full day trip to Washington DC?

For a school trip, so we will be outside walking a lot. They said tennis shoes, but the only tennis shoes I have are my running shoes for cross country. I'm NOT wearing those. Would zip up boots - the kind that you wear over skinny jeans - work? And they said to bring to pairs of shoes because it will probably rain so I would be bringing my converse or ballet flats too. I have no idea what else to bring, though.

i brought a deck of cards and a game boy or something like that. just bring fun things to do. also, i would bring a few long sleeve shirts and a couple short sleeve. if its going to rain you should probably bring an umbrella and heavy coat too. i hope you have fun! :)
