I'm sure Lakers would love it if San Antonio, Dallas, Boston and Miami got knocked out early so they wouldn't have to face any of those teams. Could happen, but I doubt it. That's just wishful thinking on your part.

More realistic:
Lakers struggle through the first round, then are knocked out by Dallas or San Antonio, one of which will represent the West. Mavs could get Dirk his first ring or Spurs could get Duncan his fifth. Either of those scenarios are more likely than yours.
