Typically, when the check engine light "FLASHES" it means you shouldn't operate the vehicle because it could result in further damage to the catalyst.

Typically and this is printed in your owner's manual, is that a sensor has failed and the vehicle should not be operated or operated in a limited capacity.

I suggest having a stored trouble code verified to determine the cause of the issue at hand.

Depending on the mileage it may be the "upper O2 sensor".
