What does the "ipad" do? How does it compare to a laptop?

What is the purpose of the ipad, and is it better than the iphone/itouch or a laptop? I don't know much about the ipad....
 
THE IPAD IS AMAZING!!i have it and i use it for work, email, movies, and more. its just a bigger itouch, but many uses. go to www.apple.com/ipad
 
Why don't you go to www.apple.com and take alook then. they have full blown demos.

In short: it is a bigger itouch and can't replace a laptop.
