...against enemies? i'm thinking american morals and values like in the constitution, bill of rights, and declaration of independance. any ideas about specifics in those documents that i could use?

they are not United States citizens and should not get the legal protection of the Constitution. Also in torturing that one person (not killing, just torturing) you could save hundreds, or even thousands of lives.

The reason the 3 men were water boarded was because it was soon after 9-11 and it was unknown if there were more attacks planned against the US. It is a natural reaction to an attack on your country. A main responsibility of our government is the protection of its people from foreign and domestic attacks.

Torture is against the Geneva Convention in a declared war and against international law in the case of enemy combatants. I don't believe it is mentioned in the Constitution, Declaration of Independence, or the Bill of Rights since these people were not citizens of the US. It is not considered to be a moral way to extract information from POW's.

First off our constitution is not to protect enemies of our citizens, it is meant to protect our citizens
only from all enemies foreign and domestic. Any enemy to the US and its citizens is an enemy of
mine and I don't care what is done to get the information we need to save the lives of our citizens!
Ethical and emotional arguments don't stop these scum bags from spreading their terror, so I see
no reason to take their comfort into account either!
