I joined the Army National Guard a week ago. I just had my first and last drill before basic. Although I did fine with my running and sit ups, I only did 9 push ups. Out of all the people there, I think I did the least. I've never been so ashamed of myself. My recruiter told me it was okay because I'd be placed into a physical fitness unit once I arrived. What will I do there? I don't want to fail no matter what. Will they be able to raise mu push up count in the proper amount of time? I leave in 6 days and will be doing as many as possible before then. I need to do 17 I think. I am just depressed that I was only able to do 9. I beat a lot of the guys that smoked me in push ups by a lot in the 2 mile run. Out of 52 I placed third, if that means anything.
