What happens if i connect a device needs(12V,1.2A) to a source (12V,5A) . Thank you?

Nothing will happen if the polarity (the plus and minus) on the connector is correct.

Hotel is wrong. If a power supply can supply more amps than a device needs, that is OK. If the supply had a higher voltage than the original, that would be bad.

Like I said, as long as the polarity is correct the higher amp supply will work great.

Hello....Your device is asking to connected to 12V, 1.2A, and not a higher source. You have to remember one important thing. The Volts are the same but the A stands for Amps. Amps are the push of the current provided. Maybe nothing will happen but in most cases, the highter the Amps, you will FRY or burn up the device with the high amps. Your device might not be able to handle the extra amps, so I wouldn't connect it to the 12V, 5A.
