what happens if i was in a bike wreck?

if i was on the back of the bike with my boyfriend and we hit a truck and he being my boyfriend didnt have insurance and its been six months can i still sew or do something about it because i have 15000 in hospital bills?
i live in independence mo

Who's fault was the accident? If it was the truck, he is responsable for your bills, if it was your boyfriend he is responsable too, but if he is poor you are out of luck.

I don't know is you could sew in the first place.

But if you intend to sue him, you certainly can. You could receive his assets, if he had any, and he might be forced to sell all his personal property to pay you and your lawyer.

you have 7 years..from the date of the accident report....usually what happens is that you sue your boyfriend and in turn, his insurance goes after the truck driver, provided it was his fault, if not you simply go after your boyfriends insurance.statute of limitations is 7 years though.

Now if you meant sue-who did you indend on sueing? Your boyfriend or the truck that "you hit"? If the truck driver was at fault-like he/she turned directly in front of you or if they crossed into your lane-definately. If your boyfriend actually hit them for any reason other than they failed to yield the right of way, then no.

Now if you want to sue your boyfriend because of your injuries and he is being a jerk and not paying your medical bills then go for it. You have the right to get compensated for medical, lost wages and pain and suffering, take your pick or take all. Do not look for a quick settlement. These things drag on for years.

You can call a lawyer and they will give you a better idea of what to do. First call can be free if it understood at the start of the call.The advice can be Pro Bono. There are a lot of lawyers competing out there so we can certainly take advantage of this fact.
