What is a DVD DECODER?

Firstly I had my 22 week ultrasound done today and they recorded it onto a dvd for me. I have it ripped to my computer but it will not play in Window Media Player.


-What is a DVD decoder?
-Do I need to download one or do I need to upgrade my Windows Vista?

Download VLC player and use that. It is free and will play it.
