i have a 1979 Chevy pickup and i would like a "nice" stereo, whats a good inexpensive brand? not super cheap, i'd still like to be able to listen to dub step and what not, and i also don't need to wear earplugs while listening to them, i went to best buy the other day and they had the weird set up where you hit a button and it plays the radio on 2 speakers and i thought to $54 Sony was really good.

As far as car audio goes, Sony makes everything from crap to decent quality, depending on how much you have to spend. Memphis audio is a decent brand for the medium budget list for speakers and subs.

sony makes pretty standard speakers which are way better than stock
your not gonna notice much of a different between brands unless you have a nice tuned amplifier set up

Sorry but Sony is complete crap. My friend insisted on buying sony cd players because he could afford them. well after spending over 150 on 3 of them he could of had a decent Alpine or Pioneer.... Which is what i'd suggest, pioneer at the lowest, alpine makes a few modest priced head units, jvc is also decent. avoid boss, dual, sony, pyramid
