What is a good time for a 13-year-old to go to bed?

I think my parents are being unfair by making me get ready for bed at half past eight. Most of my friends stay up until 11 pm... What do you think?
I don't really have a bedtime, but my parents expect lights out at 9pm. I also like to read when I go to bed, so I'd have to go to bed at around eight to get quality reading time.
On school days I wake up at around 7am. On weekends I wake up a little earlier.

Your Parents Suck Balls, Dude I Hope Its Gets Better For Ya, Dame You Already Sleep Half Of Your Life

I'm 14 and I go to bed at 10pm. A 'good' time, sleep wise is probably 9:30pm. I have to get up 4 school at 7am too. On weekends I usually get up a lot later ;)

I think it depends upon the person... 8:00 is a little early for a 13 year old, but you didn't mention your actual bed time.

If all your friends jumped from a bridge to their death, would you follow?

8:30 is WAY to early...I'm sure you're not even done with your homework by then! But getting ready for bed at 8:30 doesn't mean that is your bedtime. FYI: 11 is too late too; you need more sleep than that at your age. 9:30-10 is more appropriate.

whoaaa 8:30 is sooooo early. nah i think 10 or 10:30 is a good time. altho when i was 13 i used to stay up till like midnight :D

Well it depends when you have to wake up.

If you have to wake up at 7am, then you should be getting to sleep at 9to10pm.

Teenagers need at least 9 hours of sleep.
