I have tried Moscato and Reisling but they are really Hit or Miss. I want to find something I can enjoy just like a Shiraz. I can enjoy any Shiraz even if its just ok.
I am wine wine drinker with very similar tastes to yours. I am not very fancy my tastes when it comes to wines, but my parents are! The one white wine that I have never gone wrong with is a Gewürztraminer. It is an easy to drink wine with a great flavor. I promise you will like it! It is not dry or floral which tend to be my main dislikes with whites. Give it a shot....Gewürztraminer!
Moscatos and Rieslings are both usually the sweetest of the whites. And if you like Shiraz and Merlot or reds at all like that then you'll know that they are not sweet (they are liter and easy to drink but not sweet). You should try a pinotgrigo but ask for one that is a little less on the dry side. They tend to be some what fruity but not sweet like the Rieslings or moscatos. Or try a drier Riesling (stay away from late harvest grapes, there definitely sweeter than normal!) Good luck!
