Serenity kicks butt, but to really understand it you will have to watch the Firefly series first. (It's available on DVD, 13 1-hour episodes, and it's awesome.)

Nobody's mentioned The Fifth Element yet, which is an older favorite of mine.

Total Recall is cool, but very violent.
