What is an extremely interesting topic to learn about then present?

I have an assignment which requires me to research a topic, write a paper, construct a powerpoint and present the topic to my class. Because this prompt is so big i really have no idea of what to research! so what interests you? what do you think would interest me? I am 16 and love to snowboard, play basketball and be outdoors. I also like computers and i am good at math and science. Thanks for the help in advance!!!

Holy cow! So many options! Here are a few ideas:

Who is the best snowboarder now and what makes him/her so good? How did s/he train to be this good? How does s/he maintain his/her status? What do you see for his/her future? (You could also answer this about a basketball player.)

What are some issues that affect the environment that you are passionate about? How about studying what happens from the time a plastic soda bottle is placed in a recycling bin until it ends up becoming something else?

Why are the world's glacier's melting? Are they?

Why do you need to filter your water if you are camping and you want to drink from a stream?

What are the origins of the game of basketball? (You could also answer this about snowboarding.)

Environment is always a big thing. Talk about global warming and the effects its having on snowhills. This would be especially good considering the recent volcano eruption and there is talk that the large amounts of sulfur releasing into the atmosphere will have a huge effect of global warming. I dunno, it's an idea.
