What is an interesting topic for a history term paper?

I am looking for an interesting topic for a world history term paper. The topic must be between 1400 and 1899. Any ideas? Help very much appreciated!
I forgot to add that I cannot do anything regarding America. It has to be world history.

Who had the legal rights to what is now the United States before the Europeans came? How much did the Europeans pay for the right to settle here. Do you think this was fair?

The american revolution is pretty interesting and there is a lot to write a term paper on that subject.
