It's like extra warranty, you can buy it while your original Apple warranty has not yet ended, it covers a lot more too. I'D recommend it for any Apple device because anything can happen. Yes it can be bought for iPhone at Apple.com on the Apple online store ( it's a great warranty protection plan ) !
