What is the best OS? Linux OS, Android OS, Mac OS X Leopard , or Windows 7 OS X?

I am wanting to install Linux OS on my laptop. Is Linux OS better than Windows 7 OS X. How do you install Linux i went to the website and it mention distributions. I also heard that Windows 7 OS X and Mac OS X Leopard is a closed OS. Is true or not?
