I am thinking about getting a Suzuki GX-750 Sport Bike. Is this a good bike to start with?

I'm with Red. That bike is a fast way to an expensive crash.

A GSX-R750 counts as a supersport bike, as do the R600 and R1000 (and the CBR series, and the YZF-R6 and R1, and the Ninja ZX-6, ZX-10, etc.) The key here is that these bikes have inline four engines and run at very high RPM. They're difficult to handle when you're learning throttle control. Most of the people I personally know who started out on a four cylinder bike ended up wrecking it.

A bike with two cylinders comes highly recommended. Honda and Yamaha don't make a suitable beginner sportbikes; they only make supersport bikes. You might want to take a look at some of the 500cc and 650cc twin bikes on the Suzuki and Yamaha sites, such as the Ninja 500R, SV650, Gladius, ER-6n, GS500F, Ninja 650R, etc.

You will kill yourself on that thing. It is one of the all-time great sportsbikes and hopelessly too much bike for a beginner.
