what is the best stuff for fixing a plastic step on my truck step bar

because it is barely hanging on? i have tried super glue but it don't hold for bout 2 days. I'm trying to find something that will hold it for a very long time. the step bar is metal and the step is plastic. i also need something that will stand up to truck washing

Try either Gorilla Glue or epoxy. I've used gorilla glue on a backerboard for tile and I could push the backerboard as hard as I wanted and it wouldn't come off. You can find it at auto parts stores or even at Wal Mart. Just be sure to follow the instructions for proper and strong hold. Hope this helps!!
