what is the deal with the blue ray television with internet automatic updates

that must be downloaded? what if i dont have internet
this guy i know bout a television apparently specifically for the blu ray player... He doesnt have the internet yet apparently he has to get automatic updates on it or the television warns that it may not work properly.. what is this

If you don't have internet you're probably not interested in such devices. BTW, most of these devices will work even if you don't have internet. You won't be able to benefit from the software update though.

There is no such thing as "blue ray television". There are blu ray players that connect to high def TVs, which is what I would assume you really mean.

There is also no such thing as "automatic updates" in the context of a blu ray player. There are blu ray players that need a firmware update to work and there are also blu ray players that incorporate streaming video. I assume you are talking about one of these, though I certainly can't tell which.

How did you post here?

If you are wanting to upgrade firmware on a blu ray player, you can go to the device manufacturers web site under support and they generally let you order the update on a DVD.

If you don't have internet and you are really talking about wanting streaming video, you are just plain out of luck!
