What is the difference between deja vu and a premonition?

I know what both mean but I would like a very in depth example of the two. The reason I am asking is because something freaked me out really bad today. I want to say this experience was deja vu, my brother came over and as he was leaving he told us about his night before. It was weird, the way he was playing with the lamp by the door a thought came in my head as he said "so last night". When he did that I told him to stop and I said you are going to tell us about how you got free drinks last night right? He just looked at me for a second and then asked if we talked last night. It was so weird because I have had premonitions before but never one seconds before it happened. Has this ever happened to you?
I don't think I put this in the right category, sorry.
 
a premonition is seeing the events of the future. Deja vu is feeling like you relive an event.

so you were having a premonition, unless you felt like he had already told you about the drinks, in that case you would be having deja vu because it would be like reliving it.
