What is the difference between Divx, HD and flv formats?

I'm looking for a fairly simple definition as to what each one is.

Divx is a compression format based on MPEG-4 standards.
HD means High Definition, basically any video above the 720 pixels wide or 576 pixels high.
FLV is a container. Containers are like boxes that hold stream of video/audio/subs/etc in one package. AVI, MP4, MOV, MPG, MKV, FLV, all those are containers, not compression formats.
