What is the Future Soldier Training Program and is it mandatory?

I got an email from someone saying I was enrolled in the future soldier training program (FSTP). I've never heard anyone else talking about this and was wondering if it was a mandatory thing.

I am in the Army by the way (ship to training Aug 26)
 
future soldier training simply refers to individuals who are about to join the Army but have a while before they ship to basic. it is designed to help indoctrinate you with the policies and traditions of the Army. it is part of the delayed entry program. my suggestion would be to go talk to your recruiter

You don't automaticaly get promoted at the end of the program. You can get promoted through referrals and/or completing the Pre Basic Training Tasks List. Your recruiter can give you more information about it.
