What is the performance difference between a 320 gb hard drive and a 500 gb one?

I am going to college next year and, of course, am looking into buying a laptop. Money is not a huge issue but I would like to use is sparingly, especially if there is minimal difference. As for my usage, I will be doing typical college stuff like papers and whatnot. I don't store movies on my computer and don't have an obscene amount of music either. I do, however, do a bit of gaming, primarily World of Warcraft if that makes any difference. So, is the extra cost for a 500 gb hard drive worth it or should I save my money and go with the 320 gb one?
