what is the required length of an air force military contract for MPs?

I'm thinking of joining, but i don't want to be gone for 8 years. I have no idea how it works so any advice is appreciated. And what does "active" "inactive" duty mean. does inactive duty mean i can move back home when and go to school? And what kind of an ASVAB score is needed to become an MP. I have an AA and i'm a junior in college. Will my education help me out?
