The wildcard round will occur after all 3 semifinal rounds have taken place. In each semifinal round, only 3 out of 12 singers will get voted through by viewers to the Top 12. The judges will then invite any singer who wasn't voted through that they feel deserves a 2nd chance to the Wild Card round. The past couple of seasons, the wild card round wasn't held. In past seasons when it was held, judges have sometimes ( but rarely) invited back singers who did not originally make it to the semifinals, which is why some people are hoping that singers like Michael Castro or Jamar Rogers are invited back for the Wild Card round.
