Leaving children under 18 alone to be children, obviously they will do as the parents say so follow what ever religion specific to them why can't laws be introduced to protect children so they can make decisions when old enough to.
Ms.Morrigan - What great attitude, then we could say that a parent does have a right to grant their child to have sex, smoke, drink, drive, leave school when they want etc etc theses laws are put in place to best protect children above the choices a parent make. I have seen and experience enough to know the damage religion can do!!
Lara - Why is it better for religion to have more control over children and depending on the religion their young minds getting filled with confusing and complex issues and story's which are only deciphered depending what adult they seek guidance from.
We are already seeing problems within some mosques the way children are treated and thought!! I was raised as a RC and I have heard from many others what we as children got tolled and at times it conflicted to my parents teaching. Be nice to people yet fear anyone outside the RC?!?
There is some children forced into marriages and they are torn between respecting their family to be close to them forever and on the other hand want to rid themselves of a religion they do not want to be part of. How can people justify that religion works and not want children to be protected.
We protect children from abuse, well in a lot of cases within religion children are abused and forced to take on family religion. What is the difference!?!
You can raise a child perfectly without religion, you do not need religion to raise children.
The more you know - Now you are speculating that all 18 year old's want to drink and party, even religious people are doing that. That is a culture issue that I believe has got worse with the lack of discipline and guidance. Form people that feel that we should leave it to the parents to educate their children values and look at us now, would you trust a group of kids at night in the street no you would be sh*ting yourself till your home and safe!!
Are people suggesting that Atheists and parents who teach their children to respect all religion to leave it to them later, are raising their children wrong and that they will be without morals???
I can show you places where they lock swing parks and play areas for children on the grounds of religion and most children by 10 have alcohol problems!!!!
