This car has been serviced regularly and runs beautifully but there is something wrong with the battery charging system. The battery is less than 1 year old but I have to jumpstart the car everytime I drive it. If I drive it every single day then it will usually but not always start but if I let it sit for 2 days or more, it won't. I took it to a porsche mechanic and he says everything is fine with the battery, alternator, charging system but the damn thing wont start. I purchased a trickle charger and hooked that up and IT STILL WON'T START! It starts with jumpstart everytime though. Can anyone tell me where the problem is here?
Will a bad alternator or loose fan belt cause a car battery to not trickle charge? I don't think it is the alternator since once I jumstart the car the car will drive forever without dying although the headlights always dim whenever I accelerate. Plus the mechanic says he checked the alternator and belt and all is okay.
