What is wrong with my suv? I can feel the gears shift when I get to 35mph?

I have an automatic suv. When I get to 35 mph I can feel the gears shifting to the next level.... kinda feels like I am driving a stick shift and I am shift from 3rd to 4th. It does it again around 40 mph.... it is really suttle but I know it feels different than normal. What could be wrong?
 
Yeah pretty much.
You feel it drop into 4th gear, which is your overdrive gear, around 35-37 miles per hour under light acceleration. Since it's an overdriven gear, it's going to be more noticeable than the others. Then, around 40-43, the torque converter will lockup for better efficiency.

This is all normal.
 
You don't say which SUV or what make, so I can only answer this in general terms.

If the upshift is very subtle and gentle, I would say there is nothing wrong with your transmission and is merely slight changes in upshift pattern caused by:-

The Trans ageing
Fluid and ambient temperature (very cold or hot)
Old fluid that needs replacing
Different driving technique

Use a trans specialist and get it checked out.
