what kind of chili did they cook in high school?

I was just thinking about how somehow the best chili i used to eat was from the high school cafeteria. I come from a small town in Nebraska but i was wondering if anyone had any idea of what kind of chili this could be. I assume they just dumped it out of a can and into the pots without changing it.
