...the laundry? what kind of damage is done to the nissan intelligent key when its put through the laundry?
I have a 2009 nissan altima coupe with that inteIligent key system. I accidentally put my intelligent key into the washer. When i took the mechanical key out, there was water in there... what are the chances of my key being fried? What kind of damages are likely to have happened to the key? what can i do to minimize the damage? how much does it cost to replace? Thanks!
 
Should be nothing wrong with the key, but if you feel it necessary open it up and dry it out, and replace the battery. You need to learn how to program the key before you decide to take the battery out, as you will need to reprogram the key. Don't let the dealership tell you that they need to do some special programing, because is all done in the vehicle, keys cannot be programed elsewhere unless is from the factory, but once a set of keys leaves the factory, the factory cannot reprogram the key unless it reprograms the cpu's ignition code of the vehicle. look for how to reprogram the key online someone will post it if is not already posted.
