I'm looking into buying some new cranks for my bike but I'm a little confused with how the spindle sizes work. Does it matter if I get a 19mm, 20mm, or 22mm spindle? The bike is a GT Bump that uses an American type bottom bracket if that makes a difference. Also will any American type bottom bracket kit work with any spindle of the corresponding size (any 22mm BB kit with any 22mm spindle for example)? Thanks in advance!
