I am thinking of buying a road bike, I have a mountain bike at the moment and have had for years but am just thinking of making the change and trying something new. Next week I am going to visit a few cycle shops and see what they say but as I am a beginner in this field what tips should I bare in mind when buying my first one - as I know very little about this and because times are hard for shops I am concerned I may be flagged some bullsh*t to twist my arm into buying an instock item. Can I have some tips please, I am 6ft and in pretty good health but weigh about 14 1/2 stone. Cheers in advance
