What should I do when meeting a College Admissions Officer?

I recently applied to Claremont McKenna College and found out that I was placed on the Waiting list (alternative list) and I hoping to improve my chances on being accepted by sending a letter and meeting an admissions officer personally. Would that work? If so, what should I say, bring, and be expected to be asked?
