what size surly bike frame is best for me?

I'm 5'9 and have been told that a 54 cm frame would most likely fit best..but considering surly usually comes in odd sizes, i'm stuck to choose between either a 53 cm or a 56. any advice?? i'm ordering online, so immediate recomendations would be greatly appreciated.

I assume you're getting a Steamroller? That one has the odd sizing.
I suggest you get the 53cm. I ride a 54cm Tk2 at the velodrome and I'm 6'0. It's great for aggressive riding and sprinting since it lets you move around more.
When you're looking for a Track frame, get something slightly smaller than what you would get for Road. I suspect 56cm would be a bit too large for you.

It would be better to go slightly smaller then too large. The 56 will be too large.
