Before you respond with all the religious nonsense think! I'm reading a few minutes ago that the Crystal Cathedral... Dr Schullers inspiring glass edifice to god has claimed bankruptcy... Their reasoning for filing is "Well, times are tough all over" ... They filed bankruptcy on a mortgage of 36 million dollars and another 7.5 million on vendors... 43 million in total... and I think what "Truck" are these guys thinking... People all over the planet are starving and living in the open and they have a mortgage of 36 million. How many of people would that have fed or clothed or educated or even built a roof over their head... 3 months ago I walked away from my protestant background and now call myself a humanist... you know like many of our founders who considered themselves Deists and humanist... I did this because of the flawed logic of the christian religion... not that there is a higher power bigger than all of us but because the mindset of the average christian is rapped around the dollar bill. There ideas are flawed they seem to think that our belief system in this country has boarders and that we cannot cross them... they have little tolerance or empathy or compassion for the human condition beyond our boarders... For instance... remember Haiti... oh my god we all thought as we looked at people struggling to lift massive walls of concrete with shovels. Well A republican... DR Tom Coburn has placed a hold on aid to Haiti and is refusing to release it... A Doctor... A MF Republican Doctor... That's just nuts!... Then I'm going through the yellow pages the other day and there are massive amounts of pages of churches... tens of pages of them... That's nuts... Again the dollar bill... the I think about the the ultimate evil... a woman's choice / Abortion... They scream about health care dollars or foreign aid being spent on it. Not one red cent to save the babies and then they approve military budgets that are ten times that of anybody else on the planet to what... Kill Babies??? and thousands of other human beings... The madness that is the Christian Mindset totally baffles me and if I go to hell for refusing to follow such logic then so be it... I'm comfortable with that decision... But you can bet that there will be millions of Born again christians (small c) in line right in front of me. excuse the epithetic swear words but someone has to get your attention... you want to object to something... object to the trillions spent on bombs, mines, missles that are dropped on innocents. Bill Maher put it best the other day when he pointed out the idiocy of developing a new jet fighter so we could engage the Tailiban Airforce in a dog fight. Its a mad house down here.
