What type of fuel does a 1994 bmw 325is take?

I am planning on buying one soon and am woundering what type of fuel it takes, like unleaded(87), premium(91), or plus(89)? if it takes premium or plus could i put in 87 and will it still run? if so will it be rough.. what could happen? if anyone knows that would be great

premium most likely, you can run regular gas, but you might get knocks, and less performance
 
i have a 1999 323i convertible uses regular unleaded, it says right on the manual, i used premium 91 once and i couldnt tell the difference, maybe is cleaner in the engine but you can always use one of those treatment to take care of your injectors
